What Are Kinder Chocolates and Why Are They Being Recalled?

You’ve probably heard about the infamous recalled Kinder Chocolates, but what are they and why are they being recalled? It’s all about salmonella and the chocolates that contain it. The chocolates were contaminated in a Belgian factory where other products were produced. The recalled chocolates were sold at many retail stores, including Costco in the San Francisco Bay Area, BJ’s Wholesale Club in Northern Nevada, and 14 Big Y Supermarket locations in Massachusetts and Connecticut.

These Products have been Recalled for Salmonella Contamination

The company is the same company that makes Ferrero chocolates, one of the biggest in the world. In addition to Kinder Chocolates, they make popular chocolates such as Nutella, Ferrero Rocher, and Tic Tacs. These products have been recalled for salmonella contamination, and their production facility has ties to the production of Kinder Surprise eggs. However, the chocolates have been recalled in different countries, including the US and the UK.

The company is investigating the recalled chocolates, which were created at the same plant in Belgium. The outbreak is being investigated by the European Health Agency, which said it will only resume production once the plant meets certain food safety standards. Ferrero said there are no cases of salmonella in the United States, but recalled batches of Kinder Chocolates have been recalled in Belgium, Denmark, Finland, and Sweden. Ferrero’s website says that it is investigating the outbreak and urged consumers to keep away from the recalled chocolates.

Besides the Chocolate, There are other Versions of the Brand to Satisfy Every Taste

Michele Ferrero began making KINDER CHOCOLATE in Alba, Italy. It later became a part of the Ferrero company, which remains family-owned today. The company has evolved over the years to become the second largest chocolate brand in the world and is sold in over 170 countries. Despite the global reach of Kinder Chocolates, this company is proud of their long-standing history of making tasty chocolate treats. They produce an array of chocolate treats and chocolate products to delight children of all ages.

The recalled Kinder Chocolates are a favorite of parents and children alike. A milky cream filling and a crunchy wafer base are both delicious treats for kids and adults. Besides the chocolate, there are other versions of the brand to satisfy every taste. The brand’s popular Mini and Max chocolate bars are a little bit larger than their regular counterparts. There’s even a milk chocolate stick with extra creamy milk filling.

The Brand also Sells some Seasonal Varieties

The recalled products were allegedly linked to dozens of salmonella outbreaks in France, Belgium, and the UK. Following the salmonella outbreak, the Belgian food safety authority ordered the recall of all Kinder products produced in that factory. Ferrero has apologized for any lapses and said that the company had not provided full information to consumers. Ultimately, consumers should avoid the recalled products if possible. This has become a difficult situation for the company.

Aside from their popular classic chocolate sticks, the brand also sells some seasonal varieties, such as Kinder Happy Hippo and Kinder Bueno. The latter are great for kids, as they are sold separately under their seasonal collections. As a bonus, some of the holiday themed Kinder chocolates are frozen! Those looking for a unique way to get your kid to indulge in their favorite treat can find frozen Kinder Chocolates in a local ice cream shop.

The Chocolate’s Texture is Similar to that of a Milkshake

The ingredients of Kinder Chocolates include sugar, cocoa butter, milk powder, and anhydrous milk fat. Sugar is the main ingredient, while the rest of the ingredients are derived from sugar and palm oil. Anhydrous milkfat is used to reduce the fat content of the chocolate. The chocolate’s texture is similar to that of a milkshake, so it’s easy to discern which is which. It’s a good option for children with allergies.
